We understand that going to counseling can be out of your comfort zone. We try to lessen your anxieties with resources that will help you understand what you can expect. At South Lane Mental Health, we offer intensive, outpatient, and recovery therapy options. This includes the possibility of Neurofeedback and EMDR therapy if appropriate. We have locations across Cottage Grove, OR, and South Lane County, so therapy is more accessible for the community. FAQs

How do I become a client?

First, you must call us at 541-942-3939 to schedule an initial assessment with a counselor, where you will discuss your personal history and your needs. After that meeting, you will be assigned a counselor who will schedule your next appointment.

What payments do you accept?

We take all major credit cards, checks, and cash.

How to switch therapists?

We make every effort to match therapists to clients who will work well together. If a client would like a different therapist, talk to the therapist directly or call the front desk at 541-942-3939 and let them know you’d like to switch. Our Clinic Manager may ask if there’s a way to work it out with your current therapist or she will reassign you to another therapist.

Do you have a waitlist for outpatient counseling?

Unfortunately, we do have a waitlist for both youth and adult services. Our adult waitlist is moving faster and the wait time could be two weeks to one month. Our youth waitlist is moving slower and the wait time is closer to two to three months. If you are in crisis, please access our crisis services.

How to cancel an appointment?

You can call your clinician directly or call the front desk at 541-942-3939.

What insurance do you accept?

We accept clients with the Oregon Health Plan (OHP) administered in Lane County by Pacific Source Community Solutions and Trillium. We are also able to work with clients with “open card” Medicaid status, meaning they are enrolled in Oregon Health Plan but have not yet been assigned to a specific Lane County CCO. South Lane Mental Health may be able to offer services to dual-eligible clients who have OHP in combination with other insurance. Please call to confirm you’re eligible.

On a limited basis, we can accept clients with Pacific Source private insurance, MODA, Regence, United Healthcare, Triwest, and Providence private insurance, dependent on eligible therapist availability. If you have any of these insurances, please call us to determine availability.

Do you take court mandated clients or offer parenting/custody evaluations?

We do not. We offer voluntary services, and if a client is not interested in services, then we will not force them to engage. Also, we have very talented youth clinicians, but none of them are trained to offer professional opinions on parenting or custody evaluations.
